Stanhill Farm News!
We are pleased to announce that our Pumpkin Patch booking system is now open to book tickets! We open for the first picking session on Saturday 5th October. Please see the Pumpkin Patch page of our website for full information about how to book.
The Pumpkin Patch has proved very popular since we first opened it eleven years ago, and it is lovely to see people of all ages enjoying Halloween and selecting their own pumpkins to take home and carve.
Grab a wheelbarrow and head down to the patch or the field where you will find a huge array of pumpkins in various different sizes. It is also a great chance for a photo opportunity, surrounded by a sea of autumnal, orange colour!
We have seen some fabulous pumpkin carvings over the years and welcome any photos of customers’ creations to be posted on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages. You can also make use of the pumpkin flesh and create delicious soups, pies and even muffins!
Our Pick Your Own has continued to be very busy, and we are pleased to advise that our summer strawberries have cropped for a second time! As a result, the berries are on the small side but there are currently lots to pick.
Also available for picking are Primo and Pointed cabbages, Runner beans, carrots, courgettes, courgette flowers, kale, beetroot, and broccoli. Please see the Pick Your Own page of our website for updates and lots of other helpful information before you visit, including availability, opening hours and prices.
Autumn has officially arrived, which means our on-site café, Berries & Beans, summer season has now finished. However, we are pleased to advise they will be open again for the Pumpkin Patch season next month!
We have local honey available, priced at £8.00 per jar. The honey we sell is sourced either from hives on our own farm or from hives on a friend’s farm on the other side of Birchwood Golf Course, depending on what is available at the time. Currently, we have both available.
Introducing local honey into your diet can help with allergies, as the honey contains the allergens native to the area you live in. Honey has the added benefit of being a good source of antioxidants and can help heal wounds and ease digestive issues and sore throats/coughs. Additionally, buying local helps to reduce pollution and save resources.
We are currently harvesting Pointed and Primo cabbages, Runner beans, broccoli, spinach, chard, marrows and courgettes, bunched carrots, bunched purple carrots, curly kale. Fresh from the fields, zero food miles and no plastic!
We are sourcing Gala and Red Windsor apples, Conference pears and raspberries from Roughway Farm in Tonbridge. Bramley and Spartan apples are being sourced from Foxendown Fruit Farm in Meopham. Strawberries and blackberries are being sourced from Hugh Lowe Farm in Maidstone.
All the above products are available to buy from both our Farm Shop and Click & Collect Service. Subject to availability.
