Stanhill Farm News!

Over the past week we celebrated British Pie week, and as a nation of pie fanatics it appears that we love nothing better than a wholesome pie! We stock a wide selection of Kentish pies - choose from a delicious variety of small pies including Steak & Ale, Steak & Kidney, Chicken & Bacon, Chicken, Brie & Cranberry, and Spinach & Mushroom. All priced at £3.50 each. 

We also stock larger, family sized Steak & Ale and Chicken & Bacon pies priced at £9.00 each. If you have a sweet tooth, you might enjoy our large Black Cherry or Apple fruit pies priced at £6.00 each. 

With the evenings now drawing out, our Farm Shop opening times have changed slightly for spring and summer, as follows:

• Monday – Saturday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
• Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm (remains unchanged)

Easter is just around the corner, so we will soon see the welcome return of our favourite Hot Cross buns! Delivered fresh each morning by our local bakery, make the most of these tasty treats while they are still around! It is traditional to eat warm Hot Cross buns on Good Friday, with their combination of spicy, sweet, and fruity flavours they have long been an Easter tradition.

Superstitions about Hot Cross buns ranged from the belief they had medicinal powers, to sailors insisting on having them on board to ensure a safe voyage. Today it is still considered good luck to hang one above your door on Good Friday. We currently also have Lemon Easter Cakes (large/round) priced at £5.50 each, Easter Muffins priced at £3.50 each (pack of two), and Easter Gingerbread priced at £1.50 each.

Please note our opening times for Easter weekend, as follows:

Good Friday (3rd April): 10:00am - 4:00pm
Easter Saturday (4th April): 9:00am - 5:30pm
Easter Sunday (5th April): Closed
Easter Monday (6th April): Closed
Tuesday (7th April): Normal hours resume

We are currently harvesting kale and kalettes. Rhubarb will be ready soon. Fresh from the fields, zero food miles and no plastic! 

All the above products are available to buy from both our Farm Shop and Click & Collect Service, with the exception of the Lemon Easter Cakes, Easter Muffins, and Easter Gingerbread, which are only available from the Farm Shop. Subject to availability.
