Jersey Royal potatoes are now available, however, as it is still very early in the season the price is currently high at £8.00 per kilo. This price will come down as the season goes on and more become available. The start of Jersey Royals is always a good sign as it indicates that the weather is improving! Available to buy from both our Farm Shop and Click & Collect Service.

Easter is just around the corner, and this will see the welcome return of our favourite Hot Cross buns! Delivered fresh each morning by our local bakery, make the most of these tasty treats while they are still around! It is traditional to eat warm Hot Cross buns on Good Friday, with their combination of spicy, sweet, and fruity flavours they have long been an Easter tradition.

Superstitions about Hot Cross buns ranged from the belief they had medicinal powers, to sailors insisting on having them on board to ensure a safe voyage. Today it is still considered good luck to hang one above your door on Good Friday. Please keep an eye on our social media pages regarding information about when the Hot Cross buns will be available, and the price.

We currently also have large Easter cakes available, priced at £4.50, Easter Bunny Gingerbread biscuits, priced at £1.50 and Easter Bakewell tarts, also priced at £1.50. Available to buy from our Farm Shop.

Now is the time of year that we begin to sow Brussels sprouts. Previously, we sourced our Brussels sprouts as transplants (small plants) from a nursery in Kent, however, the farmer has now retired. As a result, we have resurrected an old seeding machine to sow the Brussels sprouts in the seed trays to create our own transplants - these will then be planted at the end of May. This process will also be used for Kalettes. Additionally, we are hoping to grow a new variety of red Brussels sprouts called ‘Red Bull’.

We are looking forward to a new addition coming soon to our Farm Shop! From the end of next week we will be stocking fermented chilli hot sauces, produced locally by a fellow small business called Ferm Believers. The range will include a choice of mild, medium, and hot strengths and will be available in 150ml bottles. More details to follow soon on our social media pages.

It is British Beef Week from Saturday 23rd - Saturday 30th April and an opportunity to focus on recognising and highlighting British beef farmers and the work they do to support sustainable practices on their farms. It is down to the strides being taken by British farmers that means beef from Britain continues to maintain its position as being amongst the most sustainable in the world. We stock Beef mince, and Rib Eye, Sirloin and Fillet steaks in our Farm Shop. Sourced from Glovers Quality Meats in Hartley, Kent, owned and run by the Glover family for four generations. Delivered to Stanhill Farm every week on a Tuesday and Friday. Orders welcome – subject to availability.

There is currently a shortage of salad produce, therefore we are struggling to source certain items. We will do our best to source them but if we are unable to, a substitute will be offered for Click & Collect orders. Please bear with us and thank you for your patience.
