Stanhill Farm News!

We are looking forward to opening our Pumpkin Patch on Saturday 21st October. The Pumpkin Patch has proved very popular since we first opened it four years ago, and it is lovely to see people of all ages enjoying Halloween and selecting their own pumpkins to take home and carve.

Grab a wheelbarrow and head down to the patch where you will find a huge array of pumpkins in various different sizes. It is also a great chance for a photo opportunity, surrounded by a sea of autumnal, orange colour! We have seen some fabulous pumpkin carvings over the years and welcome any photos of customers’ creations to be posted on our Facebook page. You can also make use of the pumpkin flesh and create delicious soups, pies and even muffins!

If you would like a pumpkin sooner they are now available to buy from our Farm Shop. Pumpkins are priced at 85p per kilo, and will be available through until Halloween - while stocks last. For full details please go to http://www.stanhillfarm.co.uk/pumpkin-patch

Runner beans, marrows and courgettes are now coming to an end, we have started to take the Runner bean canes down to store ready for next year.

Purple Sprouting broccoli is just beginning to come through. Sprout tops should be starting in a week with sprouts to follow at the end of the month.

We are busy ploughing the fields and sowing the wheat ready for next year. We have been laying plastic over raised beds, ready to plant the new crop of strawberries.

Kent apples are now in full swing, we have Red Windsor, Cox, Spartan, Bramley and also Conference pears - all from Foxendown Fruit Farm in Meopham.

This Saturday we have a local running club using the farm for their annual cross country run. The club are supplying marshalls to direct the traffic, however, the farm will be busier than usual so apologies in advance for any inconvenience caused.
